To this end we are pleased to announce that Jon Poole will be joining MorePerformance, our training and development business, to help us expand the range of services we offer in the areas of 'senior management coaching, change management and in particular outplacement support'.

 

Jon has been involved in leadership and organisational development for almost twenty years. He is the former Head of Training and Development of the Save & Prosper Group and was latterly the deputy CEO of the Society of Chemical industries. He is also the author of a recently published book entitled 'Business Coaching in Easy Steps.'

 

Given the economic conditions over the last year or so we appreciate that some of our clients may be having to consider restructuring their operations and managing all the consequences that may result from that. One of those consequences may well be redundancies and as a responsible employer one of the things you might be considering is the option of outplacement support for those people affected. 

 

Through Jon, MorePerformance will be able to provide extremely cost effective ways to support your outplacement needs across a number of areas:

 

  • At its simplest, we can provide workshops for small groups to help with tips on CV writing and interview skills.  We can arrange for these to be conducted on your own premises or on more neutral ground.
  • You may feel that you prefer to provide more personal support and we can accommodate this by providing a more personalised version of the above workshop on a one-to-one basis.  This more individual attention allows us to work closely with an individual, tailoring our approach to their specific needs.
  • For some individuals you may want to consider full outplacement and career coaching where we help the individual with their choices over their future career direction. We will agree with you up-front, the scale of our involvement to meet your budget requirements.

The benefits of providing outplacement support, at whatever level, can be significant:

  • Those people affected by redundancy will leave having received tangible support from your business they are therefore likely to be more positive when talking about your business in the future
  • Provided the correct fair and proper processes are adhered to they, are likely to be less inclined to pursue any concerns via an employment tribunal, particularly if you have offered real support.  Even if they do, the fact you have offered support will be seen in a positive light
  • Those remaining can see that you have handled their colleagues with consideration.  This can significantly help with morale for those remaining.
