MorePerformance Leadership Programme gains Lantra approval

MorePerformance, the training and development division of the specialist recruiter MorePeople, are delighted to announce that their highly successful Leadership and Development Programme (MLDP) has been approved by Lantra for delivery under the LandSkills programme.

LandSkills, managed by Lantra on behalf of Yorkshire Forward, is part of the EU supported Rural Development Project for England. The LandSkills programme is designed to deliver sustainable business benefits to the agricultural, horticultural and forestry industries in the Yorkshire and Humber Region.

Approval by Lantra means that companies placing delegates on the MLDP will be eligible to have 50% of the costs of the programme funded via LandSkills. In order to be eligible, businesses must be involved in some form of primary production but unlike many other funded training options there is no restriction on the size of the company or any exemptions based on prior training or educational attainment of the delegates.

Commenting on the Lantra recognition of the MLDP, MorePerformance Director Peter Hunt said “The MLDP has been operating successfully for over five years within our core sectors of Fresh Produce, Horticulture and Garden & Leisure. Having a bespoke version of the programme endorsed by Tesco Plc, for their Produce and Horticultural suppliers, in 2005 was a great fillip for us and now gaining approval from Lantra to deliver the MLDP under the LandSkills initiative is another great achievement. We are particularly pleased that the MLDP has been given match funding as we feel that this is a great opportunity for some of the smaller enterprises to gain access to the type of training and development initiatives that perhaps in the past they may have felt was inaccessible to them on cost grounds.”

The LandSkills MLDP is open to anyone operating in the land based sectors in Yorkshire and Humber including Farmers and Growers and those working in Forestry, Commercial Horticulture and the Fresh food Supply Chain.

The first ‘Yorkshire’ MLDP will be starting in early 2009 and we will be contacting all our existing clients who qualify for funding over the next few weeks. However, in the meantime  should you want to find out more information please contract Peter Hunt or Jan Khan on 01780 480530 or email yorkshire@moreperformance.co.uk
